It's been awhile since I posted a funny story about Kaleb.  No, he didn't momentarily stop being funny, just haven't gotten around to telling you any stories.  These TWO were too hard to pass up though!

Kaleb has been so amazingly good lately.  I've been working like mad, and had little time for anything else.   Dave's been picking up the slack around the house, leaving Kaleb to play by himself a lot.  My parents have been amazingly generous, and took him 4 weekends in a row to their lake house so I could make sure all those Mother's Day orders were getting out in a reasonable amount of time.

Anyways, this weekend I promised that I would work less and play more.  Saturday was one of the first days our pool was open, and it was NICE here (aka, not 50 degrees, but also not 90, I don't do 90). Kaleb took full advantage of the time we had together.

When we first got there waiting for the pool to open

Kaleb swam almost non-stop for about 3 1/2 hours!  He has taken a lot of lessons over the past year, so when I say swim, I don't mean he was just splashing around in the wadding pool, but rather non stop underwater swimming!  The lifeguards at our pool are also conveniently his swim teachers. So they all know him well, and he shows off like crazy for them.  Anyways, the day was winding down, but we were having so much fun with family that we couldn't justify leaving.  One of his teachers said, "Kaleb you are going to be so tired tonight!"  The all knowing mother in me quickly disagreed, as I was sure he would just keep going like he always does (don't you wish you had the energy of a 4 year old again!)

About 15 minutes after that, Kaleb started to complain that his eyes were sore.  I mean swimming underwater with your eyes open for 3 hours will do that to you! I told him to close them and lay his head on my shoulder for a few minutes just to rest his eyes.  Literally 2 seconds later I looked down, and he was sound asleep!  DID I MENTION WE WERE STILL IN THE POOL!  That's right, my child fell asleep swimming!  This was no quick nap, he was passed out! We got him out of the pool dried off, changed and he barely woke up!  (Although the thought of ice cream a few minutes later did the trick only to fall back asleep right after he finished a strawberry shortcake ice cream!)

Ah, how fun it is to be 4!

As mentioned previously, Dave has been doing all the housework, errands, and child care at night and on the weekends so that I could work.  So last night he decided to take the night off, and go to the Avengers movie with a friend.

I was putting Kaleb to bed, and he always tells me his tummy is hungry right as I'm putting on his PJ's.  It drives me batty because I know it's just a ploy to stay up a little longer. So we start negotiating crackers.  He says, "Can I have a few?"

Mom, "Ok 2."
Kaleb, "No a few, how about 3?"
Mom, "Fine 3, but NO more!"
Kaleb, "Not 4?"
Mom, "No not 4."
Kaleb in his sassy voice, "Why Mom, you can't count to 4?!"

Ah, jeez!  I wonder where he gets all that sass? Couldn't be me! ;) Seriously, the kid is only 4... I'm scared!

One my favorite parts of selling online, is that you're never quite sure who it will bring into your life. I know it sounds strange, but selling online can bring an amazing connection to your customers.  I find people often feel more comfortable to open up, and frequently I find I make friends with people that have purchased from me.

Allison Preisinger came to me to purchase one of my simple sterling silver necklaces for her graduation.  We talked about her upcoming album release, and she sent me the link to her music.  It's amazing.  I have a special place in my heart for the indie singer-songwriter.

After so much hard work, she is now celebrating the release of her amazing album, which I am promptly buying! You have to check it out here! You'll love it too!

Leslie contacted me last month, after seeing so many of her friends buying charm necklaces with their children's signature.  She wanted one, but wanted it to be a little different than the others.  She specifically said that she wanted to be able to wear it as her staple necklace, and rarely take it off. This means it would need to go with gold or silver and whatever color outfit she might wear that day.  Also, she'd need to be able to dress it up to wear with suits and dresses at work, but also something that would go with jeans and a t-shirt.

Luckily, I had just bought lots of mixed metals in hopes of adding some diversity to the charm shop.  As soon as she contacted me I had a great idea! After lots of collaborating, finding charms that really had meaning for her, this is what we came up with --- >

It's 2 separate figaro chains so she has the versatility to wear just one at a time.

The top one contains a copper infinity symbol linked within the chain

The bottom one is 2 handwritten 8 mm monogram charms, 2 hand cut brass leaves, a copper feather (symbolizing that "to God, problems are as light as a feather"), open copper heart, and one wire wrapped pearl

Love how customized this is, taking such a fun funky twist on my standard offered jewelry.  Just proves how adaptable my jewelry is. You can change them up to fit exactly what fits your style and your life.  Making something that fits someone so well,  is one of my favorite parts of this job. It brings me so much joy to make something so special for someone.

Contact me for yours!

As a young woman, I know the true meaning of "wedding season." Everywhere I turn there is someone else engaged, planning their wedding, or just wed.  Love is in the air!  I have come up with a few great new pieces to make this year's wedding season a breeze for you!  There is no better gift for the shower or wedding than a custom, one of a kind necklace.  The bride in your life will love them! Such a great way to remember such a beautiful and special day.

I've been working on the idea of this catalogue for some time now, and finally put the finishing touches on it.  I'll have it available to browse through at shows along with example necklaces and each bead/charm to look at, but I thought it would be a nice way to get a brief overview of what I offer, and how you can customize your jewelry to your specifications. I'm also hoping to offer the charm jewelry at some local stores, and this will be a piece to that puzzle when I can tackle it.

My skill level in photoshop must be improving, as I'm liking more and more the brand imaging.  Love the brown tall fonts, and that it all matches the sites and new packaging.  It's all coming together!
